Exhibition focused on the work of fine art paper making. Louise Nevelson's cast paper works from the 1970s are sculptural. Chuck Close's ''Georgia,'' from 1984, utilized poured pulp which is layered stencil over stencil and then hand manipulated by the artist. Mary Heilmann uses the physicality and chromatic intensity of pigmented pulp in her minimal compostions. Leonardo Drew's recent works are a modern amalgamation of both methods of casting and stenciling pulp--in addition to hand applied pigment--to create deeply colored and textured works.
