Karlos Carcamo, Robert Otto Epstein
May 12-May 26
Karlos Carcamos paintings begin with the fluid gestures of a graffiti tag on a color plane these components are then built upon as he fabricates more formal structures and interplays blocks of complementary color fields. Robert Otto Epstein's subjects begin as color-coded bits of abstraction. These building blocks, as it were, come together in myriad and unexpected ways--square-by-square, row-by-row--to eventually yield holistic portraits, grid portraits, or complete grid-based abstractions that pulsate with color and movement.
